I have to thank my father for introducing me to art at a very early age. My best friend and I spent hours filling drawing pads with our inexhaustible imaginations. Attending art college and studying fine arts was all I ever wanted. Aged sixteen I attended Hull Regional College of Arts and Crafts and to my great disappointment found great prejudice directed towards girl students wishing to embark on those courses. I went on to train as a teacher specialising in art and craft and taught at primary level for 25years.I can’t say which art discipline I prefer, I am driven to explore a theme in as many different media as possible. I am never more content than when I am making things.
